Omega is supporting a leading fire protection contractor in the recruitment of an experienced Site Manager to oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical fire protection, gas suppression, and fire detection systems across commercial projects in the UK. The successful Site Manager will play a key role in managing site activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining strong communication with clients and internal project teams. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive and technically skilled Site Manager to take ownership of high-profile fire protection installations and contribute to the successful delivery of complex projects.

Key Responsibilities – Site Manager

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical fire protection, gas suppression, and fire detection systems.
  • Supervise and coordinate site installation subcontractors, ensuring compliance with approved method statements, risk assessments, and all relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor safe working practices, site housekeeping, work permits, progress, and adherence to construction drawings.
  • Deliver regular site safety toolbox talks and ensure all site operatives are briefed and working safely.
  • Liaise regularly with client representatives at site level, attending progress meetings, safety meetings, and inspections, and managing planning, snagging, and related activities.
  • Maintain strong communication with the fire project team and management, providing updates on progress, risks, and resource requirements.
  • Carry out regular installation snagging inspections, complete snagging documentation, and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct routine safety checks on all site equipment and maintain accurate associated checklists.
  • Be prepared to work remotely on sites across the UK as required.

Qualifications & Requirements – Site Manager

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Site Manager delivering fire suppression system projects.
  • Proficient in the use of IT software, particularly Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical installation practices and methods.
  • Sound understanding of fire suppression products, alarm system design, commissioning, and cause-and-effect testing.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant standards, including BS EN 12845, BS 9251, and BS 9990.
  • Possession of a valid SMSTS qualification (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
  • Solid understanding of construction-related health and safety protocols and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage both personal and team workloads effectively.
