We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing environment on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure machinery downtime is minimised through effective preventative maintenance and rapid fault resolution within a fast-paced FMCG setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across site machinery and production equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on food processing equipment
- Respond quickly to breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
- Record all maintenance activities to support fault tracking and continuous improvement
- Liaise with engineering leadership to ensure availability of appropriate spare parts
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and maintenance processes
- Mentor and support other engineers to deliver high-quality service to production
- Champion health, safety, and environmental compliance across all activities
- Assist with building maintenance and site engineering projects as required
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer within an FMCG or manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical and mechanical engineering capability on production machinery
- Experience with PLC fault finding and process control systems
- Ability to understand and support electrical control systems from switchgear through to implementation
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
- Experience in executing preventative maintenance strategies
- Knowledge of HACCP, COSHH, and GMP standards within food manufacturing
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance tracking
- Driven to deliver continuous improvement and engineering best practice
Essential Qualifications
- Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
- BTEC / ONC / HNC / HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Ideally 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Desirable Experience
- Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG sectors
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience supporting internal H&S audits and compliance
