My client, a specialist equipment manufacturer, is on the hunt for a Buyer / Material Planner to join the team!
Role and Responsibilities – Buyer / Material Planner
In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day purchasing activity across a defined portfolio of suppliers and product groups. This includes maintaining stock levels according to company strategy, ensuring parts availability in line with sales forecasts, and overseeing all MRP planning.
- Proactively monitor upcoming supply risks and provide practical solutions to avoid shortages
- Collaborate closely with the sales planning team to ensure timely delivery performance and effective stock management, preventing under- or over-stocking
- Order in line with purchasing strategies & budget controls
- Expedite and adjust supplier orders in line with changing sales and production requirements
Experience or Qualifications – Buyer / Material Planner
- Experience within a buying / material planner role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Able to work cross-functionally with other departments such as Engineering and Sales
- Experience in working with MRP/ERP systems (ideally SAGE or Microsoft Dynamics ERP)
- Strong analytical mindset with examples of interrogation and data analysis projects
Candidates who currently are a Buyer, Purchaser, Materials Planner, Technical Buyer or Strategic Planner may be suitable for this position.
