This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled machine shop team in Gloucestershire, working on complex, high‑precision components including small batch and NPI projects. This role is for a confident CNC Programmer / Production Engineer who can create accurate CNC programs, support shop floor operations, and work closely with engineering, design and production teams to ensure components are manufactured to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities – Production Engineer

  • Create CNC programs using CAM software
  • Produce accurate shop floor documentation and job packs
  • Support NPI, small batch and precision machining work
  • Programme complex components to a high standard
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T
  • Work closely with designers, buyers, engineers and production teams
  • Support tooling selection, ordering and consumables
  • Complete routings and structures within the ERP system
  • Maintain accurate TPM records and machine maintenance sheets
  • Monitor maintenance reports and investigate discrepancies
  • Coordinate machine servicing schedules and engineer visits
  • Maintain tool vending machine inventory
  • Ensure material, tooling and programming information is properly controlled
  • Promote safe working practices within the manufacturing environment

Qualifications & Requirements – Production Engineer

  • Minimum 3 years’ CNC programming / CAM programming experience
  • Experience using CAM software such as HyperMILL, Mastercam, Edgecam, Siemens NX, SolidCAM, Fusion 360, FeatureCAM, Delcam, PowerMill or similar
  • 5‑axis programming experience would be highly advantageous
  • A strong machining background across batch production and NPI
  • Experience programming complex, high‑precision components
  • Good knowledge of CNC machine tools and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T
  • Strong IT skills and good attention to detail
  • Experience with mechanical assembly would be advantageous
  • Experience with ERP systems, routings or job packs would be useful
