Working Hours: Rotating shifts (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm)

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an experienced Machine Setter to support the Flexo department in the smooth running of the Flexo machines to produce conduits to drawing. In addition to technical responsibilities, the successful candidate will provide day-to-day leadership and support to the Flexo team, promoting high standards of performance, accountability, training, and continuous improvement across the department.

What you’ll do:

  • Able to set Flexo machine to produce steel conduits ranging from 10mm-63mm diameter from galvanised & stainless steel.
  • Able to operate minimum 4 Flexo machines to high standard.
  • Monitor component quality through periodic checking, using the correct gauges, measuring or inspection equipment for the job.
  • Maintain the efficient operation of the machine lubrication system by monitoring oil levels and topping up with clean lubricant whenever necessary.
  • Loading coils using the Quick-change coiler and able to operate lifting equipment.
  • Thread steel strip through form rolls straight and curve guides.
  • Able to Wind steel strip onto mandrel to produce conduit to the required quality standard.
  • Able to achieve 75% minimum efficiency when running 4 Flexo.
  • Able to join all types of conduit with welding equipment and transfer conduit into the required storage medium.
  • Able to complete all quality and production documentation.
  • Ensure all products are produced to the required quality standards.
  • Always maintain a high standard of housekeeping by regularly cleaning the work areas, wiping down machines and keeping floors dry and clean.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained and carry out duties in accordance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and standard operating procedures.

  • A good knowledge of Flexo machines.
  • Previous experience of managing a team.
  • Previous experience of working with continuous improvement / lean techniques.
  • Able to work as part of a team and as an individual.
