Join a global engineering company in their growing engineering services team delivering maintenance, diagnostics and technical support for critical power distribution systems across a diverse customer base. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer with expertise in LV/MV switchgear to work on a variety of industrial, commercial and critical infrastructure sites, helping customers maintain safe, reliable and efficient electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on LV and MV switchgear and associated power distribution equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Perform inspection, testing, troubleshooting and repair activities to minimise customer downtime.
  • Deliver field service activities safely, efficiently and in line with customer requirements and company standards.
  • Produce detailed service reports, material requirements and maintenance documentation.
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians where required.
  • Participate in commissioning, upgrades and modernisation projects when necessary.
  • Represent the business professionally whilst providing a high level of customer service.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within a Field Service, Maintenance or Service Engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of LV and/or MV switchgear systems and power distribution equipment.
  • Experience carrying out fault finding, diagnostics, inspection and testing activities.
  • Understanding of electrical safety procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience with OEM switchgear manufacturers or critical power infrastructure environments would be advantageous.
