We are now seeking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter for a busy manufacturing company based in Bristol. The appropriate candidate will be building of commercial vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Fit and Fabricate metal components and structures according to specifications and drawings.
- Read and interpret Engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and production.
- Operate various metal working equipment, including cutting machines, vertical drilling, bending machines and grinders.
- Assemble and install mechanical components and structures.
- Work to engineering drawings.
- Measurements using engineering measurement instruments such as Engineers Square, Vernier Calliper, Micrometer, gauges, DTI, Angle Finder etc.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in fitting and fabricating.
- Proven track record of producing high-quality mechanical components.
- Strong knowledge of precision fitting and fabricating techniques, including the use of measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Preferable but non-essential to have vehicle body building experience.
- Experience in welding techniques also advantageous.
