Our client is a well-known manufacturer who has recently invested heavily in their Milton Keynes site. They are seeking to add to their maintenance team; this role will ideally suit someone with an FMCG/Food manufacturing background.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert engineering support to production teams, helping them hit daily targets and keep lines running.
- Quickly diagnose and repair a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment including pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, valves, ovens, mixers, pressure systems and refrigeration units.
- Work collaboratively with production and technical colleagues to solve problems calmly, logically and professionally.
- Proactively get to the root cause of faults and fix them in the fastest, most cost-effective way.
- Drive continuous improvement using proven tools and techniques to boost plant performance and reliability.
- Support the Engineering/Site General Manager by arranging specialist contractors or equipment when needed.
- Get involved in exciting projects β new machine trials, validation work, CI initiatives and LEAD programmes.
- Highlight recurring machinery or process issues to the management team with clear, actionable reports.
- Keep the workshop and stores organised and tidy, ensuring accurate recording of all parts and consumables.
- Complete all documentation (handover reports, shift logs, work orders, CMMS entries) accurately and on time.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven hands-on engineering experience with strong electrical and/or mechanical skills.
- A natural problem-solver: creative, logical and thorough when it comes to fault-finding, root-cause analysis and getting things fixed properly first time.
- Cool under pressure β able to prioritise effectively, juggle multiple tasks while keeping safety and product quality front and centre.
- Comfortable working independently and getting the job done with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communicator (both verbal and written) who builds strong relationships in a diverse, multi-cultural team.
- Confident and competent in safely inducting and managing external contractors on site.
- Solid IT skills and comfortable using CMMS/maintenance software systems.
