Location: Bath

Shift: 3 shift Rotation

Working hours: 37 hours per week

  • 3 Shift Rotating Nights: Sun 10.30pm to 6am (Mon to Thurs 10pm to 6am), 30-minute unpaid break
  • Lates: Mon to Thurs 2pm - 10pm (1.30pm to 9pm Friday), 30-minute unpaid break
  • Earlies: Mon to Fri 6am to 2pm (1.30pm Friday, 30-minute unpaid break)

Salary: £57,000 (inclusive of shift allowance) per annum dependent on experience

A great opportunity for a skilled CNC Machine Shop Team Leader to take a step up or for an experienced Machine shop leader to take on a new challenge. The successful candidate will ensure the shift operates at an optimum level of safety, efficiency, and effectiveness to meet customer and company expectations for product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily machine operations, troubleshoot issues, and organise rework to maintain flow through the machine shop.
  • Ensure accurate and timely job bookings.
  • Support Team Leaders with machine allocation and job prioritisation.
  • Raise purchase requisitions for approved suppliers (tools, oils, Mazak, Sunnen, batteries, etc.).
  • Control and report on Kanban levels.
  • Hold weekly meetings with the Manufacturing Manager to review issues and propose solutions.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) sessions with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, and operators following scrap or collision events.
  • Ensure the team actively participates in CI activities to remove waste and improve efficiency.
  • Support auditing activities to ensure compliance with required standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Relevant experience in a CNC machine shop environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to set and run most machine tools within the defined processes for the product portfolio.
  • Ability to lead through organising, coaching, mentoring, developing, and motivating team members.
  • Attributes: open-minded, change-oriented, target-driven, methodical, supportive, forward-thinking, with a positive, proactive, and approachable leadership style.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the business.
  • Computer literate.
