We're recruiting for a globally recognised engineering and manufacturing organisation specialising in high-performance instrumentation and industrial technology. Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team of Quality Engineers and Technicians while remaining hands‐on in operational quality activities.
- Support deployment of the site quality strategy, focusing on prevention, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
- Drive process quality improvements, including leading and delivering structured quality improvement projects (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean, CI initiatives).
- Improve right-first-time performance across parts, processes, and equipment using practical problem‐solving techniques.
- Conduct regular process audits to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Design, Sales, and R&D to ensure quality is embedded across all stages of the product lifecycle.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure robust, on‐time, and defect‐free product launches.
- Develop and maintain control plans, inspection methods, and process controls to ensure consistent process capability.
- Provide daily shop‐floor support to resolve production issues impacting delivery or quality performance.
- Lead and facilitate root cause analysis activities, ensuring sustainable corrective actions are implemented.
- Work with suppliers using drawings and technical standards to resolve quality issues and improve performance.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and drive improvements to eliminate defects, variation, and inefficiencies.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of leading and delivering quality improvement projects (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean, continuous improvement initiatives).
- Strong experience in process quality and shop‐floor problem solving (rather than purely quality systems).
- Experience leading or supervising small teams while remaining operationally hands‐on.
- Demonstrated success in New Product Introduction (NPI) and quality assurance activities.
- Strong cross‐functional collaboration experience.
- Skilled in structured problem‐solving tools (8D, RCA, Six Sigma methodologies).
- Six Sigma Green Belt (minimum) – Black Belt preferred.
- ISO 9001 knowledge/audit experience desirable.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- IT proficiency including MS Office and SAP.
- Project management capability.
