A growing and evolving plastics manufacturer is seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Tool Setter to join its small, close-knit mouldshop team. Working with Romi and Demag machines, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business investing in its processes and equipment while offering a stable days-based role. The successful candidate will play a key role in setting up machines, maintaining tooling, and ensuring smooth and efficient daily production. This position offers a strong work-life balance with a consistent shift pattern and a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and prepare injection moulding machines (Romi & Demag) for daily production
- Carry out tool changes and ensure machines are production-ready
- Load tools and set machines to achieve optimal cycle performance
- Perform basic tool cleaning, maintenance, and machine servicing
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to minimise downtime
- Conduct quality checks on components to ensure high standards are met
- Work closely with production and quality teams to resolve any issues
- Support development work and process improvements (typically on Fridays)
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Qualifications / Experience:
- Proven experience as an Injection Moulding Setter / Technician
- Essential experience with Romi and Demag machines
- Experience with robot equipment (desirable)
- Strong understanding of injection moulding processes and tooling
- Ability to fault find and resolve machine or tooling issues
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach
- Relevant technical or vocational training (desirable)
Hours: Monday to Friday Days: 6am-2pm (flexibility to work 7am-3pm). Occasional flexibility required to meet business demands.
