Shift: 3 shift Rotation Salary – Up to £57,000 (inclusive of shift allowance) per annum dependent on experience A great opportunity for a skilled CNC Machinist or Team Leader to take a step up or for an experienced Machine shop leader to take on a new challenge.

The successful candidate will ensure the shift operates at an optimum level of safety, efficiency, and effectiveness to meet customer and company expectations for product quality.

Key Responsibilities – CNC Shift Lead This role is a pivotal role in developing a team culture that promotes continual improvement across Safety, People, Products, Processes, Procedures, and overall performance.

  • Oversee daily machine operations, troubleshoot issues, and organise rework to maintain flow through the machine shop.
  • Ensure accurate and timely job bookings.
  • Support Team Leaders with machine allocation and job prioritisation.
  • Raise purchase requisitions for approved suppliers (tools, oils, Mazak, Sunnen, batteries, etc.).
  • Control and report on Kanban levels.
  • Hold weekly meetings with the Manufacturing Manager to review issues and propose solutions
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) sessions with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, and operators following scrap or collision events.
  • Ensure the team actively participates in CI activities to remove waste and improve efficiency
  • Support auditing activities to ensure compliance with required standards.

Qualifications & Requirements – CNC Shift Lead

  • Relevant experience in a CNC machine shop environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to set and run most machine tools within the defined processes for the product portfolio.
  • Ability to lead through organising, coaching, mentoring, developing, and motivating team members.
  • Attributes: open-minded, change-oriented, target-driven, methodical, supportive, forward-thinking, with a positive, proactive, and approachable leadership style.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the business.
