We are seeking an experienced Electrical CNC Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical CNC Maintenance Engineer who is looking for a field-based role with variety, autonomy, and excellent career development prospects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and commission CNC machine tools and automation equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, and CNC control faults
- Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- Fault-find on CNC systems, servo drives, spindle drives, motors, PLCs, and safety circuits
- Support troubleshooting of CNC controls including Heidenhain, Siemens SINUMERIK and Fanuc
- Interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and technical documentation
- Backup and restore CNC parameters and machine data
- Perform machine testing, calibration, and operational verification
- Provide technical support and training to customers
- Complete service reports and documentation accurately and promptly
- Liaise with internal departments regarding parts and technical issues
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and site procedures
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience servicing and repairing CNC machine tools
- Strong electrical and electronic fault-finding skills
- Hands-on experience with CNC controls including Heidenhain, Siemens SINUMERIK and Fanuc
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Solid knowledge of servo systems, AC/DC drives, PLCs, and machine safety circuits
- Experience using electrical test equipment and OEM diagnostic tools
- Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with overnight stays
- HNC/HND or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is desirable
- PLC programming knowledge (Siemens STEP 7 / TIA Portal) is advantageous
