My client is a world leader in the provision of highly advanced technical solutions to the Energy and Chemical sectors. They are currently looking for a Lab Support Technician to join their growing team who are advancing technology in their sector. Candidates will have the opportunity to work in an environment where investment is continuous and substantial.
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week. 6.00 - 14.00 5 days a week. Upon completion of training a shift pattern which will be 6 - 18.30 3 days a week.
Duties:
- Quality control testing of all raw materials, in process samples, finished products and returns.
- Shift coverage as part of the OST shift team.
- Effectively communicate any QC failures to the interested parties on site where required.
- Responsible for fault finding on problem batches; enabling the timely release of products to customers or recovery routes for non-conforming material.
- Be responsible for maintaining all QC records including information in the SAP database.
- Updating QC work instructions and procedures as required, including the development of new work procedures on introduction of new analytical tests / equipment.
- Assist as required during the introduction of new products into the plant, including creation and maintenance of recipe and specification data in SAP database and preliminary blending and testing prior to full scale manufacture.
- Ensure all equipment is operating in good order and kept in calibration according to the required schedule.
- Be responsible for safety, making timely reports and observations as and when required.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Degree, ONC, HNC, in science related discipline.
- Experience of using laboratory equipment.
- Experience in refinery, chemical or allied industry working on Instrumented Systems.
Candidates who are currently a Lab Technician, Laboratory Operative, Laboratory Assistant, Lab Operations Associate, Lab Support Scientist, Quality Control Technician and Environmental Lab Assistant could be suitable for this role.
