Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective and efficient planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance to minimise production losses.
- Ensure continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through safe fault‑finding and maintenance of process and packaging equipment.
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum.
- Work with conveyor systems, materials handling, automated packaging, and material processing.
- Lead mechanical repairs and work with a CMMS.
- Diagnose, resolve, and eliminate root causes of faults.
- Implement minor equipment modifications to support increased performance.
- Complete all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive, and improvement maintenance as allocated.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline focused on maintenance engineering.
- Manufacturing industry experience in heavy, medium, or FMCG environments.
- Experience with routine preventive maintenance and understanding of a PPM schedule.
- Ability to find and fix faults quickly and effectively.
- A proactive approach to fault‑finding and a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development.
