An exciting opportunity has arisen with my client. They are a successful engineering company that are offering a stable career in their warehouse department. They require 3 Packing Operatives to join their business within their packing department on a permanent basis. The appropriate Packing Operative would be responsible for packing and inspecting packed products to ensure the customer receives them.

Responsibilities:

  • Label and pack the products both manually and via using automated machines on site.
  • Load, set, adjust, operate and manage the end-to-end process of various automated and manual packing equipment and machines, ensuring they are kept running in line with production targets.
  • Understand the information contained on the Packing Route Card and be able to complete details as required.
  • Prepare and manage all consumables and jobs including packing materials, labels, printer consumables, boxes etc. to ensure optimum operation and output to minimise impact to productivity and uptime of all machines and equipment.
  • Use bar scanner and supporting software platforms available at appropriate times to record events as process requires.
  • Participate in teams and raise ideas for improvement/development.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties or jobs within the capabilities of the individual as the needs of the business dictate.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in warehouse ideally in packing department or automated machine setting department within manufacturing.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to carry out inspecting of packed products.
  • High degree of manual dexterity to manipulate small products.
