Buyer required by industry leading manufacturing company, based in Gloucester. The successful Buyer will proactively manage the sourcing and supply of parts and commodities to support both business and project requirements.

Main Duties:

  • Sourcing parts and selecting suitable suppliers to meet technical and commercial needs
  • Developing and implementing commodity sourcing strategies covering cost, quality, capacity, and risk
  • Placing and expediting purchase orders to meet MRP and project demand
  • Managing supplier performance and leading supplier approval and audit activities
  • Negotiating and maintaining supply agreements
  • Resolving invoice queries in line with agreed terms
  • Liaising with production, design, stores, and accounts teams
  • Supporting continuous improvement in process, productivity, and quality
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Attending supplier meetings as required

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Previous purchasing experience gained in an engineering or manufacturing or equivalent environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical with an aptitude for figures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
