Omega are delighted to be supporting a leading organisation in the recruitment of a Food Quality Analyst to join their well-established R&D laboratory in the Leicester area, supporting analytical testing across routine quality control, product innovation, and manufacturing activities. This is a hands-on laboratory role focused on delivering accurate and reliable test results across a range of food quality parameters. The position would suit someone with experience in food testing who enjoys practical laboratory work and working within structured quality processes.
Main Duties
- Carry out routine analytical testing including oil, salt, and moisture analysis
- Operate and maintain titrators and other laboratory testing equipment
- Prepare samples and conduct testing in line with standard laboratory procedures
- Perform calibration, routine checks, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
- Accurately record, interpret, and report test results within laboratory systems
- Support quality testing for product innovation, shelf-life studies, and manufacturing requirements
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Investigate and escalate any issues relating to test results, equipment, or analytical methods
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient laboratory environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working within a food laboratory, quality control, or testing environment
- Hands-on experience using titrators/titration methods would be highly advantageous
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and consistency
- Good understanding of laboratory safety and quality procedures
- Comfortable working with routine testing methods and structured processes
- Experience using LIMS software
- Relevant scientific qualification would be beneficial but not essential
