Our Bolton facility is a key high‑volume production site focused on precision assembly and testing systems, and we are now seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a hands‑on role ideal for a proactive, skilled tradesperson who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑output manufacturing environment. You will play a critical role in maximising equipment uptime, driving continuous improvement, and supporting our commitment to world‑class production standards.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of high-volume PLC‑controlled production equipment
- Planning and performing preventative maintenance on critical assets
- Improvement and modification of assembly/test equipment and transfer systems
- Service and maintenance of electrical and mechanical site services/plant
- Supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment
Qualifications
- Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC level (or equivalent) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, supported by City & Guilds Part 3 (or similar) and NVQ Level 2 & 3
- Time‑served apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline
- Significant hands‑on experience (minimum 2+ years) in high‑volume manufacturing environments
- Proven track record in equipment repair, maintenance, and process improvement
- Experience in fitting, fabrication, and machining is highly advantageous
- Strong background in maintenance and fault‑finding on PLC‑controlled and robotic high‑volume equipment (ideal but not essential)
- Solid experience maintaining and diagnosing faults in hydraulic and pneumatic systems
