Job Title: Engineering Shift Manager Salary: £53,000 - £56,000 + contributory pension Location: Leeds Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Engineering Shift Manager to join a leading food manufacturing business on a permanent basis. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage engineering teams of 10-15 engineers across 2 manufacturing sites Work closely with the Head of Engineering and senior leadership team to minimise plant downtime Ensure all preventative maintenance activities are completed effectively to avoid production disruption Carry out and support both electrical and mechanical reactive and proactive maintenance Investigate machinery breakdowns and equipment failures to establish root causes Action repairs efficiently and accurately record all maintenance activities to identify recurring faults Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on plant productivity and efficiency Ensure engineering stores, spare parts, materials, and equipment are available when required Collaborate with production and operations teams to support manufacturing performance Maintain high standards of health, safety, food safety, and engineering compliance Drive engineering best practice across both manufacturing sites Skills & Experience Required Proven leadership experience within an engineering or maintenance management role Strong electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge within manufacturing or FMCG Experience managing engineering teams within fast-paced production environments Excellent fault-finding and root cause analysis skills Ability to prioritise workloads and manage engineering activity across multiple sites Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate engineering teams Experience delivering preventative maintenance strategies and reducing downtime Knowledge of food manufacturing standards including HACCP, COSHH, and GMP Proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence Essential Qualifications Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification BTEC / ONC / HNC / HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Relevant engineering leadership or supervisory experience Role Details A Highly Competitive salary Growing FMCG company 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays Good Pension scheme Career progression opportunities How to Apply Please submit your CV along with your availability.
