Job Description Electrical Design Engineer \n Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire, South West England \n Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time \n Industry: Engineering (Primary), Manufacturing and Production (Secondary) \n Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum \n Job Description \n We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team based in Gloucester. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems and components that meet operational requirements and comply with relevant standards. This role demands a detailed-oriented professional who can manage projects from concept through to completion within a dynamic manufacturing environment. \n Key Duties and Responsibilities \n • The electrical design of standard and special purpose machines, examples of which are, but not limited to: \n \n Lead plate feeders and stackers \n Lead casting machines \n Assembly and test machines for batteries \n Robot loading and machining cells \n \n • Carry out detailed electrical design working to in house machine sales document and customers specifications document(s) (SSOW) \n \n Electrical schematics \n Detailed cabinet layouts \n Parts lists (BOM) \n Termination lists \n Electrical documentation detailing the spec of the machine \n \n \n Working closely with the mechanical & software departments ensuring the machine meets customer specifications. \n Aware and capable to carry out risk assessments for safety regulations and CE compliance. \n Responsible for electrical component selection taking into consideration standardisation, obsolescence, availability and cost. \n Responsible for preparing and presenting electrical designs at design reviews. \n Ensures design files and information are kept up to date and stored in accordance with departmental procedures. \n Highlight all electrical/technical risks to the Controls System Manager / Mechanical Team Managers. \n Keeps up to date with the latest manufacturing techniques, electrical components and drawing standards. \n Responsible for generation of electrical drawings and bills of materials. \n Responsible for carrying out design change requests in a timely manner. \n \n Experience \n \n Minimum of three years' experience in electrical design within an engineering or manufacturing environment. \n Proven experience in designing electrical control systems, wiring diagrams, and circuit layouts. \n Experience with design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar tools. \n Familiarity with relevant British and European electrical standards and regulations. \n Ability to co-ordinate with the other discipline Engineers (mechanical, pneumatics and \n software) within the department to produce multidisciplinary design solutions. \n Able to report electrical design status on the assigned tasks whenever asked. \n Ensure the electrical design functionally meets the user's requirements. \n Excellent IT skills, especially AutoCad Electrical. \n Good team player • Effective problem-solving capabilities \n Committed to undertaking professional development. \n Full passport with ability to travel internationally for occasional customer visits. \n \n Preferred Qualifications \n \n Membership of a recognised professional institution such as the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) or equivalent. \n Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control system integration. \n Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to electrical engineering. \n Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment. \n \n What we can offer you \n \n Competitive salary \n Company pension plan \n Group life assurance and income protection \n Private medical insurance \n Cycle to work Salary Sacrifice scheme \n EV Salary Sacrifice scheme \n Generous annual leave \n Employee incentive plan \n Flexible working options, including a 9-day fortnight (every other Friday off) \n \n For more information on this role, please contact Paul Furlong on 01453 829789 or send a copy of your CV to \n Candidates who are currently a Controls Engineer, Electrical Technician or Electrical Design engineer may be suitable for this position \n For details of
