We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our client based in Sheffield. This is a hands-on Electrical Engineer position working a rotating shift pattern by providing engineering support to achieve high levels of plant availability and performance across the Meadowhall, River Don and Provincial Park sites.

Key Responsibilities - Electrical Maintenance Engineer

  • Rectify all engineering breakdowns as quickly as possible to minimise downtime
  • Support the introduction and delivery of PPM, TPM and Continuous Improvement initiatives across all sites
  • Act with delegated authority of the Engineering Team Leader in their absence and make sound engineering decisions when required
  • Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and embrace the 5S programme daily
  • Enforce and adhere to the highest standards of Health and Safety at all times
  • Complete all work recording systems accurately with relevant information
  • Carry out thorough shift change and handover procedures with oncoming personnel
  • Support the Site Engineering Manager in reducing machine downtime through autonomous maintenance programmes
  • Complete all plant PPM schedules on time and support site-wide TPM programmes
  • Work effectively as part of a multi-skilled Mechanical and Electrical team
  • Liaise with contractors and carry out cost-effective maintenance and repairs
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties as required

Qualifications & Requirements - Electrical Maintenance Engineer

  • Good academic qualifications i.e. HNC / ONC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Apprentice trained - 17th Edition Trained (Minimum) with 18th Edition Training advantageous
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an Engineering or Maintenance function
  • Strong PLC knowledge and fault-finding skills
  • Experience in a hot working environment such as steel forging, rolling or foundry would be advantageous
  • HV Switching qualification and authorisation would be advantageous
  • Team working skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Logical analytical approach with a can-do self-motivated attitude
  • Flexible with strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset
