Role Overview

We are supporting a long-established engineering and manufacturing business in Worcestershire as they look to bring an Electrical Design Engineer into their team. The company designs and builds industrial equipment used globally, and this role is ideal for someone who enjoys a blend of design work, hands-on problem-solving, and working closely with colleagues across engineering and manufacturing. If you like taking ownership of your designs, being involved through the full project cycle, and contributing to equipment that is built on-site, this role will give you exactly that.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
  • Designing electrical systems, cable routing, and circuit protection to meet project requirements.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, BOMs, and design packs.
  • Working alongside mechanical and project teams to ensure designs are practical, compliant, and manufacturable.
  • Supporting build, testing, and commissioning activities when required.
  • Ensuring all work meets relevant electrical standards and safety regulations.
  • Contributing to product improvement and problem-solving activities.

Key Experience & Qualifications

  • A degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience producing electrical designs using CAD.
  • PLC Programming experience is desirable.
  • A solid understanding of electrical principles, circuit design, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment, electrical safety, and applicable standards.
  • A logical approach to problem-solving and an eye for detail.
  • Confidence communicating with colleagues across engineering and manufacturing.

  • 33 days per annum (including Bank Holidays) increasing with length of service.
