Reporting to the Finance Leadership Team, the Finance Transformation Lead will play a pivotal role in driving the organisation's finance transformation agenda and supporting the successful delivery of a strategic SAP-enabled change programme. The role is responsible for leading the assessment and planning stages of a major transformation initiative spanning core finance operations, with a focus on Record-to-Report (R2R) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes, alongside oversight of key Procure-to-Pay (P2P) activities. Working in partnership with senior business leaders and external delivery partners, the successful candidate will help define the future operating model and create a practical roadmap that supports the transition to SAP S/4HANA.

Duties – Finance Transformation Lead

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of existing finance processes, systems, data structures and operating models to identify improvement opportunities and transformation priorities.
  • Evaluate and critically assess recommendations proposed by external advisors and implementation partners, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational realities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise across Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay processes, driving process redesign and future-state operating model development.
  • Create a phased transformation strategy and multi-year roadmap that delivers both immediate business benefits and long-term value.
  • Define key foundational activities required to enable transformation, including data governance, process standardisation, master data improvements and reduction of unnecessary system complexity.
  • Develop value measurement frameworks and contribute to the preparation of robust business cases that demonstrate expected benefits and return on investment.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, leading workshops and presenting complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Support programme mobilisation activities, ensuring readiness for successful transition from planning and discovery into implementation and delivery phases.

Experience/Qualifications – Finance Transformation Lead

  • Demonstrable experience leading assessment, discovery and strategic planning phases for large-scale finance transformation programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and experience aligning business processes to standard platform capabilities and best practices.
  • Extensive understanding of end-to-end finance processes, particularly Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay.
  • Experience managing, influencing and challenging consulting firms, systems integrators and third-party delivery partners.
