Overview: The Process Engineer – Automated Welding is responsible for developing, optimising, and maintaining automated TIG welding processes and ancillary equipment to ensure consistently high product quality, process capability, efficiency, and compliance with applicable standards. The role focuses on process robustness, continuous improvement and technical support across production and new product introduction.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, validate, and optimise automated welding processes for production and new product introduction.
- Create and maintain Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and work instructions.
- Employ Lean and Agile techniques to all activities delivering cost efficiency.
- Work with the Lead Engineer to deliver new technology and support capital investment projects.
- Support the introduction of equipment and or processes from concept stage to the production handover.
- Implement “Future Factory” solutions that guarantee manufacturing capability and capacity to meet demand.
- Support and drive improvement for the ongoing pursuit of Quality across Assembly and operations.
- Strong communication with all stakeholders, suppliers and contractors.
Requirements:
- Technical Engineering background.
- Welding background would be beneficial.
- Experience in Lean and Agile manufacturing techniques.
- Knowledge of Assembly and machining processes.
- An understanding of project management.
- Worked in fast paced diverse manufacturing environment.
- Working to and achieving targets, using project management tools.
