Salary: £44,000 - £48,000
We are looking to appoint an experienced Workshop Manager with a welding and fabrication background to take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of our workshop. This role is key to ensuring efficient production, quality compliance, and effective staff management.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Full day-to-day management of the workshop
- Programming and managing the work schedule to meet production demands
- Ordering materials and managing stock levels
- Daily coordination with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
- Liaising closely with the Managing Director on:
- Future workload planning
- Resolving fabrication and technical queries
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in a Workshop Manager or senior supervisory role
- Strong welding and fabrication background (time-served preferred)
- Experience managing production schedules and materials
- Sound knowledge of QA systems and audit preparation
- Ability to resolve fabrication and technical issues effectively
- Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
- Proactive and solutions-focused approach
