Our client based in Birmingham are currently recruiting for a Compliance Assistant to join their dynamic team. As a Compliance Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the HSE Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the Health, Safety, and Environmental department. The Compliance Assistant will contribute to maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, supporting the company\’s commitment to ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 5(Apply online only)1 accreditations. This role offers a unique opportunity for a Compliance Assistant to develop into a fully qualified CHSE professional while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key responsibilities – Compliance Assistant
– Record off-site waste transfers and verify information to ensure compliance with Duty of Care requirements
– Collect and interpret operational environmental data to meet internal compliance and permit obligations
– Prepare and submit safety and sustainability data for performance indicators
– Liaise with external parties and contractors, supervising as required to ensure compliance
– Conduct internal audits, support external audits, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications and Requirements – Compliance Assistant
– Higher-level qualification in Engineering, Environmental Management, or Health and Safety (or equivalent qualification for international candidates)
– Willingness to progress and obtain IOSH or IEMA membership
– Strong PC literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
– Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail and ability to work independently
– Clear written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
