CNC Miller / Turner required by a leading OEM manufacturer.

The successful candidate will join a small, highly skilled machining team responsible for producing development components and small batch production runs for ongoing manufacturing programmes.

This role will involve setting, operating and programming CNC mills and lathes using Fanuc controls, whilst ensuring components are produced to the highest standards of quality and precision.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist engineering environment where technical expertise and autonomy are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities – CNC Miller / Turner

  • Set, operate and programme CNC milling machines and lathes using Fanuc controls.
  • Produce development and prototype components to engineering specifications.
  • Manufacture small batch production runs, typically between 20 and 30 parts.
  • Carry out machining operations using 4th axis equipment.
  • Inspect completed components to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Maintain tooling requirements and support tooling procurement where necessary.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with production schedules and quality standards.
  • Work independently to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the machine shop.

Qualifications & Requirements – CNC Miller / Turner

  • Proven experience working with Fanuc controls.
  • Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
  • Experience setting and operating CNC lathes.
  • Experience working with 4th axis machining.
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage priorities.
  • Experience carrying out self-inspection of machined components.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Time-served apprenticeship desirable.
  • ONC, HNC or equivalent engineering qualification preferred.
  • Extensive machining background advantageous.
  • Manual turning experience desirable.
  • Experience operating spark erosion machinery beneficial, although full training can be provided.
  • Previous experience controlling and procuring tooling would be advantageous.
