We are recruiting for a Quality Inspector to work for a manufacturing company based in Stonehouse. The appropriate Quality Inspector will ensure that all manufactured components meet company, customer, and regulatory quality standards. This role involves performing first-off inspections, in-process checks, and final inspections using a variety of precision measuring equipment including CMM, profile measurement, Keyence, and shadow graph machines, as well as hand-held measurement equipment.
Key Responsibilities of a Quality Inspector:
- Perform first-off inspections and complete first article reports in accordance with customer and internal requirements
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of components to engineering drawings and specifications
- Incoming goods inspection
- Measure components using: CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), Contracer (surface roughness/profile measurement), Keyence measurement systems, Shadow graph (profile projector), Standard hand-held gauges (micrometres, verniers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc.)
- Interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications
- Record and maintain accurate inspection data and quality documentation
- Identify and report non-conforming products in line with company procedures
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities when required
- Ensure calibration status of equipment before use
Key Skills of a Quality Inspector:
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience operating CMM, Contracer, Keyence, and shadow graph equipment
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- IT literate and comfortable completing electronic inspection reports
