Job Title
Buyer – Permanent – Location: Gloucester – Salary: Up to £40,000
Overview
Buyer required by industry leading manufacturing company. The successful Buyer will proactively manage the sourcing and supply of parts and commodities to support both business and project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Source parts and select suitable suppliers to meet technical and commercial needs.
- Develop and implement commodity sourcing strategies covering cost, quality, capacity, and risk.
- Place and expedite purchase orders to meet MRP and project demand.
- Manage supplier performance and lead supplier approval and audit activities.
- Negotiate and maintain supply agreements.
- Resolve invoice queries in line with agreed terms.
- Liaise with production, design, stores, and accounts teams.
- Support continuous improvement in process, productivity, and quality.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Attend supplier meetings as required.
Qualifications
- Previous purchasing experience gained in an engineering or manufacturing or equivalent environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Analytical with an aptitude for figures.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
