We are now seeking to recruit a Fabricator Fitter to join our workshop based in Bristol. It's a permanent fabrication/fitter opportunity that would require the right candidate to be responsible for forming, fabricating, aligning, fitting and assembling steel or aluminium parts, components and equipment, to build bespoke equipment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operating fabrication machinery such as guillotines, steel working machines, and bandsaws.
  • Assembling and fitting metal components using welding, bolting, and riveting techniques, ensuring alignment and accuracy.
  • Assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, pneumatic and mechanical systems, ensuring they function efficiently and safely.
  • Ensuring accuracy and quality of finished products by conducting visual inspections, using measuring tools to conduct quality checks and diagnostic tests on finished work, adjusting and modifying where necessary.
  • Conducting routine inspections, diagnosing mechanical issues, repairing or replacing defective components, and performing preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3 in Fabrication and Welding, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Welding certifications (MIG, TIG, MMA).
  • Forklift, overhead crane, or lifting equipment experience.
