An exciting opportunity for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join a leading engineering organisation delivering critical electrical infrastructure projects across the UK. Working within a highly skilled service team, you'll play a key role in commissioning, testing and supporting electrical distribution systems for customers across a range of industrial, utility and infrastructure environments. This is a field-based position offering exposure to complex projects, advanced technologies and excellent long-term career development opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Commission, test and fault-find LV, 11kV and 33kV electrical distribution systems.
- Commission and configure switchgear, protection relays and associated control equipment.
- Support installation, maintenance, repair, upgrade and retrofit activities.
- Deliver technical support both remotely and on customer sites.
- Assist with SCADA systems including commissioning, troubleshooting and field support.
- Produce commissioning reports and project documentation to a high standard.
- Provide technical guidance and consultancy to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring a high level of service delivery.
- Identify opportunities for additional service, maintenance and upgrade solutions.
- Ensure all activities are completed safely and in line with industry standards and company procedures.
- Travel throughout the UK to support customer projects, including occasional overnight stays.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years' experience within switchgear commissioning, testing or field service engineering.
- Strong knowledge of electrical protection commissioning and relay testing.
- Experience working with LV, 11kV and 33kV electrical networks.
- Proven background supporting and commissioning SCADA systems.
- Experience using protection testing and commissioning software.
- Strong understanding of current electrical safety legislation and best practice.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites.
- Full UK driving licence.
