Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their precision engineering team. This role provides end-to-end manufacturing process support, from initial design and 3D modelling through to process planning, document control, and CNC programming for the shopfloor. You will play a key role in introducing new and existing products into full-scale production, applying lean manufacturing principles to deliver efficient, cost‐effective solutions.
Working closely with production, quality, and project teams, you'll ensure components are delivered on time and within budget while driving continuous improvement across machining processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and design manufacturing processes from concept to completion, focusing on waste reduction and efficiency.
- Generate and prove‐out CNC programs for milling and turning (3‐, 4‐, and 5‐axis machines) to guarantee first‐time quality.
- Produce accurate stage drawings, setup sheets, tooling documentation, and SOPs.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) projects and assist operators during prove‐out.
- Design and select tooling and fixtures to enhance machining capability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with quality teams on PFMEA and non‐conformance resolution.
- Lead technical discussions with suppliers and customers, delivering robust engineering solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support strategic projects for business growth.
- Strong CNC programming experience (offline) for milling and turning in a precision engineering environment.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software and 3D modelling.
- Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and machining techniques for various metals.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies and quality standards (ISO9001, AS9100).
- Experience with APQP/PFMEA processes.
- Computer literate (MS Word, Excel).
- HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
- Aerospace or automotive sector experience desirable.
- 25 Days Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays.
