Role Overview – Quality Engineer
Are you an experienced Quality Engineer looking to take ownership of quality performance in a highly regulated engineering environment? This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading aerospace manufacturer as they continue to strengthen their quality function and drive world-class standards across their operations. As a Quality Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring product safety, compliance and reliability across the full value stream. You'll act as a technical specialist for product and process quality, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term improvement initiatives. This is an on-site position based in Coventry, working closely with engineering, operations, suppliers and customers to uphold industry-leading standards.
Key Responsibilities – Quality Engineer
- Supporting compliance with AS9100, AS13100, AS9102 and other aerospace quality standards
- Conducting Layered Process Audits, product audits and process audits
- Reviewing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to AS9102 requirements
- Leading containment, root cause analysis and corrective action using tools such as 8D, 5-Why and Cause & Effect
- Driving Zero Defect and continuous improvement initiatives across the value stream
- Analysing key quality metrics such as First Pass Yield, defect rates and audit findings
- Collaborating with engineering, operations, customers and suppliers to resolve issues and improve quality performance
- Supporting APQP activity including PFMEA, Control Plans and PPAP
- Ensuring documentation, records and compliance evidence are accurate and up to standard
Key Experience & Qualifications – Quality Engineer
- Experience in aerospace or another highly regulated engineering sector
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 and general quality management system requirements
- Proficiency in APQP, PFMEA/DFMEA, PPAP and root cause analysis tools
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Engineering/technical degree or equivalent industry experience
