We are now seeking to recruit a toolmaker for a precision manufacturing business based in Stourport-on-Severn. The appropriate toolmaker would be responsible for manufacturing, repairing and assembling of complete fastener tooling kits to technical drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities of the toolmaker:
- Operating all toolroom manufacturing equipment: conventional lathes, milling, surface and universal grinders.
- Setting and operating all Toolroom measuring equipment.
- Sourcing and obtaining parts and materials as required following the procedures of the procurement system.
- Maintaining the relevant stock levels of spares and consumables.
- Ensuring the correct tools and equipment are available to carry out the tasks and repairs.
- Being a proactive and flexible team member, training in other disciplines where required.
Requirements of a toolmaker:
- Time served toolmaker or equivalent qualifications (i.e., City and Guilds, NVQ level 3, HNC etc.).
- Proven interpersonal and leadership abilities to proactively work with professional people and to interact effectively with individuals and groups both internal and external to the company and at all organizational levels.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Manual turning experience.
- Must be able to work to tight tolerances.
