Our Bolton facility is a key high-volume production site focused on precision assembly and testing systems, and we are now seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team.

This is a hands-on role ideal for a proactive, skilled tradesperson who thrives in a fast-paced, high-output manufacturing environment. You will play a critical role in maximising equipment uptime, driving continuous improvement, and supporting our commitment to world-class production standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of high-volume PLC-controlled production equipment
  • Planning and performing preventative maintenance on critical assets
  • Improvement and modification of assembly/test equipment and transfer systems
  • Service and maintenance of electrical and mechanical site services/plant
  • Supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment
Experience/Qualifications:
  • Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC level (or equivalent) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, supported by City & Guilds Part 3 (or similar) and NVQ Level 2 & 3
  • Time-served apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Significant hands-on experience (minimum 2+ years) in high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Proven track record in equipment repair, maintenance, and process improvement
  • Experience in fitting, fabrication, and machining is highly advantageous
  • Strong background in maintenance and fault-finding on PLC-controlled and robotic high-volume equipment (ideal but not essential)
  • Solid experience maintaining and diagnosing faults in hydraulic and pneumatic systems
