Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Location: East Midlands Area
Contract Type: Permanent
Working hours: 3 Shift Rotation
A leading manufacturing business is currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their established engineering team. This role is critical to maximising production uptime and ensuring equipment is maintained efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities – Maintenance Engineer
 Prioritise and carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the site.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
Support daily operations by responding promptly to breakdowns and technical issues.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure paperwork is completed on time.
Ensure TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) schedules are followed and updated.
Oversee external contractors and liaise with suppliers for parts and services.
Maintain spare parts inventory and control maintenance-related costs.
Participate in daily production meetings and provide updates on engineering issues.
Maintain and update technical documentation including manuals and drawings.
Support safe working practices and ensure compliance with all health & safety procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements – Maintenance Engineer
 Multi-skilled engineer with mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
Formal qualification in an electrical or mechanical discipline.
17th Edition (or later) electrical regulations certified.
Experience with PLC fault finding and programming.
Familiarity with plastic injection moulding machinery (250 – 1750 tonne range) is highly desirable.
Experience in a fast-paced production or automotive environment.
Overhead Crane Licence is an advantage.
Strong communication and teamworking skills.
