If the answer is yes, then we have the role for you! Omega Red is seeking an exceptional Electrical Design Engineer to join our office-based team in Nottingham. Who we are: Omega Red Group is part of SSI Services (UK) Ltd, a division of South Staffordshire Plc. Omega Red Group is a specialist design, installation, testing and maintenance contractor, within the electrical earthing, lightning protection, height safety and EV Charging Installation market. Operating nationally, the business focuses on providing top quality safety-critical services for the protection of people, buildings and infrastructure. The role: Management of Earthing system design and analysis whilst using the various software suite Responsible for ensuring that design packages are completed on time and on target with regards to time, cost, safety and environmental standards, in accordance with client and industry specifications Interface with external engineering consultants to delegate work packages that support in-house activities Liaison with DNO’s to ensure compliance of our designs Be accountable for the quality of all design deliverables and technical delivery of least whole life cost solutions What you’ll need: Experience with AutoCAD would be considered an additional advantage. Knowledge of power system modelling — including transformers, transmission and distribution lines, detection and isolation devices, and fault current analysis — would be regarded as an additional factor. Programming skills relevant to power system analysis would be highly beneficial. The ability to learn and apply complex power system concepts promptly would be an important strength. Be a passionate Electrical Design Engineer with experience in the Power Earthing Engineering environment, who has a practical and proven understanding of Design solution development and implementation. Hold appropriate qualifications in engineering and be able to display a sound understanding of relevant technologies and legislation. Desirable qualifications include BEng / MEng in Electrical, Civil or Process Engineering Earthing system analysis using the industry analysis software package CDEGS Have good commercial awareness with developing influencing and negotiating skills, as well as an aptitude to develop relationships with clients and end users quickly and effectively Be a ‘can do’ proactive person with excellent verbal and written communication skills Require a full driving licence and there will be an element of working away with the role as and when required What You’ll Get in Return: Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Pay: Competitive + Benefits Schedule: Monday to Friday Benefits: Company pension Cycle to work scheme Life insurance Store discount Plus much more!
