Omega Red Group is excited to offer a two-year apprenticeship programme, gaining a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Accessing and Rigging Occupations: Lightning Conductor Engineer.

As an apprentice with Omega Red Group, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside our qualified Lightning Protection Engineers, with the opportunity to build a long-standing career and gain a professional qualification.

Day-to-day activities will involve attending clients’ sites, assisting and learning from our Lightning Protection Engineers, installing, and repairing Lightning Protection systems.

Omega Red, part of SSI Services (UK) Ltd, a division of South Staffordshire Plc, is a specialist contractor in design, installation, testing, and maintenance within the electrical earthing, lightning protection, and height safety market. Operating nationally, we focus on providing top-quality safety-critical services to protect people, buildings, and infrastructure.

About the Apprenticeship:

The scheme lasts two years and includes classroom-based learning, with periods at college facilitated by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). You will receive on-the-job training from our qualified Lightning Protection Engineers to develop your practical skills and knowledge. At least 20% of your working hours will be dedicated to training or studying. Upon completion, there are opportunities to progress within the company to advanced roles or other specialist areas.

What you’ll need:

  • GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4 or higher) essential
  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4 or higher) essential
  • Driving Licence (Full) essential
