Omega Red, is part of SSI Services (UK) Ltd, a division of South Staffordshire Plc. Omega Red is a specialist, design, installation, testing and maintenance contractor, within the electrical earthing, lightning protection and height safety market. Operating nationally, the business focuses on providing top quality safety-critical services for the protection of people, buildings and infrastructure.
The Role
The Stores Person role is essential in ensuring materials and equipment are available when needed, keeping storage areas tidy and safe, and assisting with deliveries. The position also involves conducting routine safety checks, equipment calibration, and general maintenance duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick materials from pick lists and manage stock levels efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
- Conduct regular stock checks and six-monthly stock takes.
- Process material returns, requisitions, orders, and receipts.
- Order materials and request new stock items as required.
- Perform monthly van checks and PAT testing for office and van equipment.
- Complete fire alarm checks, emergency lighting tests, and legionella checks.
- Update all safety and maintenance records in group files.
- Conduct six-monthly inspections of branch harness equipment, ladders, and steps.
- Arrange calibration for test instruments and perform online calibration of CAT locators.
- Support deliveries for site-based teams when required.
- Wrap pallets and organize shipments for various product supply orders.
- Carry out general maintenance duties at head office, including lawn mowing, litter picking, window cleaning, and minor repairs.
What You’ll Need
- Valid UK Driving License.
- FLT (Forklift Truck) License.
- IT Literate – ability to process stock records and orders electronically.
- Previous experience in stock control/warehouse management.
