This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Electrician to lead safe, compliant and cost‑effective engineering delivery, combining hands‑on field supervision with essential project planning responsibilities. Omega Red is a specialist design, installation, testing and maintenance contractor within the electrical earthing, lightning protection and height safety market. Operating nationally, the business focuses on providing top quality safety-critical services for the protection of people, buildings and infrastructure.
The Electrician is responsible for the accurate, compliant, timely and cost-effective delivery of Omega's Engineering Departmental activities, in which responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- 70/30 split of 70% field delivery supervision and 30% office based working on the back office of project planning.
- Installing surge protection devices to low-voltage electrical systems, in line with the relevant UK Standards.
- Inspection and testing of earthing systems, in line with relevant UK Standards.
- Completion of relevant reports and certification.
- Reporting progress on projects, as required, to the relevant manager.
- Upholding Company Health & Safety standards, with training course provided.
The successful candidate will need to have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
- 18th edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (Level 3 Award in Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671: 2008 (2015)).
- Hold a relevant Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ESC) card.
- Be IT literate and happy to work as part of our team.
- Confident in supervising and managing multiple commercial contracts.
- Proficient in domestic, industrial and commercial electrical installations working autonomously (both single and 3 phase).
- Excellent customer liaison skills.
- Effective communication skills - technical and business related, with an ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Flexible approach to work pattern as the role involves extensive travel, varying start/finish times as operationally required and the ability to lodge away from home is essential.
- Full and valid UK manual driving licence is essential.
- Having knowledge of lightning, surge protection and earthing systems would be a distinct advantage (if not, training will be given).
