Omega Red Group is seeking a talented and driven Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join our Electrical Design team. The Role

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Lead Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for the following key areas:

  • Lead the design and analysis of earthing systems, utilising various software tools to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Facilitate the in-house design and engineering team, driving standardisation and compliance.
  • Ensure the timely completion of design packages, taking responsibility for cost quality, safety which meets clients and industry specifications.
  • Support the technical aspects of a team of engineers, ensuring all engineering deliverables are provided on time during both the acquisition and execution stages of projects.
  • Collaborate with external engineering consultants, delegating work packages to complement in-house efforts.
  • Liaise with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to ensure design compliance with all relevant standards.

What You’ll Need

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, ideally with a strong background in electrical power distribution, HV and LV design and practical implementation.
  • Experience with earthing system analysis.
  • Chartered Engineering (CEng) is desirable or must be working towards or hold a relevant engineering qualification (BEng / MEng in Electrical, Civil, or Process Engineering which is preferable).
  • Proactive and solution-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid full driving licence is required, with occasional travel as needed.
