Overview
We are seeking a Pest Control Technician to operate in Basingstoke, delivering complete pest control services (including proofing) to our client. You will control all pest species covered under the contract and, through thorough inspection, identify environmental conditions conducive to any pest activity whether or not covered by the contract.
Responsibilities
- Visit Stores, Foodhalls, Outlets, Depots and Office sites at intervals defined by the specification, carrying out detailed inspections in a safe and professional manner with due regard to Health and Safety and Hygiene regulations.
- Provide an effective service to clientsβ sites and communicate observations verbally as well as in writing via the reports.
- Take ownership of all pest-related issues (infestations, cleaning, proofing) to resolve ongoing problems.
- Respond promptly to genuine emergency call outs from the Helpdesk.
- Work to support the achievement of company KPI delivery.
- Formulate detailed reports on stores and escalate issues to all relevant stakeholders.
- Identify infestation non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Area Manager with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.
- Prioritise detailed recommendations for stores to achieve agreed timescales and response times to proactively defend against pest activity.
- Where pest proofing works are non-repairable, make recommendations to the National Pest Control Operations Manager and Field Support Supervisor (FSSs).
- Carry out proofing works and installations within your technical competence in accordance with current specifications.
- Advise and document to the SM any pest activity and how this may be detrimental to the smooth running of the store.
- Prepare written reports detailing pest activity detected and any environmental conditions that may adversely affect the store, to be submitted to Trading Law, Operational Managers, SMs, etc.
- Order preparations and spares in line with laid-down procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience with pest control environments.
- Experience in retail, leisure or facilities management sector is desirable.
- Good PC literacy.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Full driving licence.
- Royal Society of Health Certificate in Pest Control or British Pest Control Association Diploma Parts 1 and 2.
- Bird-proofing work is desirable.
- Helpful and professional manner.
- Customer-focused.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to be on call out once every 4 weeks.
- Ability to pass DBS check (criminal record check).
