We are now seeking to recruit a Fabricator/Welder for a busy manufacturing company based in Caldicot.

Responsibilities include:

  • Fabricate and weld metal components and structures according to specifications and drawings.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and welding.
  • Operate various fabrication and welding equipment, including welding machines, cutting torches, vertical drilling, bending machines, and grinders.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure fabricated components meet specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient project completion.
  • MIG & TIG welding.
  • Carry out cutting, grinding, finishing, and any additional fabrication (machining, fitting, bolting) required to meet design tolerances.

Requirements:

  • Time served apprenticeship or similar in welding/fabrication.
  • Background and experience in fabrication.
  • Any relevant qualifications are a bonus.
  • Experience/background working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of health and safety.
  • Previous experience in using grinders, drills, oxy/acetylene cutting equipment, press brake, and rolls will be required.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
