Role Responsibilities - Engineering Project Leader
- Manage the planning and implementation of capital and revenue projects, covering factory equipment, process, packing lines, site services, process engineering, as well as construction design management.
- Driving line installations and BAU engineering projects.
- Plan, execute and lead project activities for feasibility studies, equipment specifications, supplier selections, equipment commissioning and validation within demanding time-scales.
- Reporting directly to the Project Engineering Manager, you will have complete autonomy to deliver pragmatic, value-engineered projects to cost and time specifications.
- You will coach, mentor, and develop your multi-functional teams of engineers and designers/contractors to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- The projects will cover factory equipment, including packaging, processing, and site activities.
- Engineering Compliance Champion: Ensure all engineering activities meet industry standards.
- You will lead engineering and production teams during equipment installation and start-up, supplier selection, feasibility and justification analysis, and equipment commissioning.
- Liaise with departments cross-functionally to ascertain requirements and define project scopes.
- Preparing specifications/briefs which will go to external suppliers for tender.
- Managing tender processes, including supplier selection exercises.
- Managing external suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead, monitor and review projects internally across departments.
- Co-ordinating all contractors in accordance with our policies.
Qualifications & Requirements - Engineering Project Leader
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering backgrounds will be considered, ideally in a regulated environment, from high FMCG volume manufacturing.
- Experience developing technical engineering solutions in automated environments.
- An experienced Project Engineer from FMCG manufacturing, food preferred.
- Ideally, a degree in Engineering or time served Engineering qualifications with a further education qualification in project management.
- High level of IT literacy (and ideally fully conversant with MS Project).
- Proven Leadership and senior stakeholder management: Significant experience in a senior engineering management role within the manufacturing FMCG-related sector. This could include Food, Drink, Pharma and related consumer goods manufacturing, encompassing process and packaging.
- Mechanical/electrical qualification or equivalent, ideally a degree, even better if you are chartered!
- 5+ years of Engineering leadership experience; with exposure to FMCG environments ideal.
- Excellent People leadership skills to motivate, lead and drive projects.
