Reporting to the Quality & EHS Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring dimensional compliance across automotive and industrial products, supporting customer requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Interpret 3rd angle geometric drawings, including datums, GD&T and customer-specific requirements
- Produce comprehensive dimensional and measurement reports in line with automotive standards
- Operate and programme CMM equipment, including Mitutoyo bridge-type machines and Faro Arm systems
- Utilise metrology software including MCOSMOS, PolyWorks, CAT1000 CAD, MSURF-S and MSURF-1
- Carry out component measurement using first-principle measurement equipment and CMMs as required
- Prepare Appearance Approval Reports and colour-coded part evaluations when required
- Support PPAP / APQP measurement submissions and meet customer timing requirements
- Liaise with customers regarding measurement, PPAP and APQP-related queries
- Ensure quality communication across shifts and departments, supporting containment and corrective actions
- Support product re-qualification activities and annual measurement reviews
- Work in line with ISO9001 and IATF16949 standards, driving continuous improvement
Experience & Technical Skills
- Minimum 3 years' experience within an automotive quality or metrology environment
- Experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive customers
- Strong knowledge of ISO9001 and IATF16949 standards
- Proven experience using Mitutoyo CMMs and Faro Arm systems (essential)
- Strong understanding of GD&T, SPC, control plans, PPAP and quality tools
- Experience with APQP methodologies
- Working knowledge of IMDS advantageous, ONC or equivalent qualification in Quality / Engineering IQA modules or MIQA qualification beneficial
