In this newly created role, your brief is to help digitise the manufacturing backbone of a large FMCG manufacturing, Process and Packaging site. You will help drive the future electrical systems for projects at this manufacturing site. An ambitious programme to modernise and digitise through database, systems and infrastructure development. We're seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead critical electrical infrastructure upgrades and develop a robust database system to support Industry 4.0 transformation.
As an Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing electrical engineering projects from conception to completion, applying electrical standards and governance to ongoing CAPEX and transformation projects. You will work closely with the Site Electrical Standards and Governance Manager.
This role involves the full project life cycle, implementing, and maintaining electrical tendering, installations, processes, and components to meet project specifications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage project timelines and budgets, and ensure that all electrical engineering aspects align with safety and quality standards.
Role Duties & Responsibilities - Electrical Systems Project Manager- Lead the design, installation, and commissioning of all electrical infrastructure projects on site
- Develop and implement electrical standards ensuring compliance with legislation, safety regulations, and best practices
- Create and manage a site-wide electrical database, enabling data-driven decisions, predictive maintenance, and digital asset management
- Oversee the electrical elements of the full project life cycle-from feasibility studies and CAPEX planning to delivery and handover
- Partner with operations, engineering, and IT teams to integrate digital solutions
- Manage contractors, budgets, and timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on time, in full
- Lead electrical and control system projects from concept to completion, ensuring robust design, installation, and commissioning
- Maintain and improve site electrical standards, ensuring compliance with legislation, safety requirements, and best practice
- Oversee the electrical elements of CAPEX and infrastructure projects
- Serve as the technical authority for electrical systems, design reviews, and project risk assessments
- Developing project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource requirements
- Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential project challenges
- Degree/HNC in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in electrical project management within an FMCG or high-volume time-sensitive, complex manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of electrical compliance, safety standards, and legislation
- Demonstrated ability to work with digital electrical systems, databases, or automation technologies to modernise manufacturing operations
- Proven project management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of electrical standards, legislation, and safe systems of work
- Experience delivering automation, control systems, or electrical infrastructure projects
