About the role: We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Malvern, UK. In this role you will be at the heart of improving and evolving our precision manufacturing processes. You will enhance production systems, increase efficiency, and ensure quality at every step.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple manufacturing projects and investigations of varying length and complexity.
- Resolve engineering challenges to production targets using structured problem‑solving tools such as A3PS, 8D, and DMAIC.
- Maintain and control manufacturing processes using lean tools, including SOPs, BOMs, control plans, value stream maps, Kanban, and PFMEA.
- Drive, validate, and implement changes to product design with a focus on quality and manufacturability to ensure new and existing products can be made, assembled, and tested to the right specifications.
- Improve KPIs in technology through targeted projects and communicate progress to key stakeholders in production and the wider business.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve safety, quality, and delivery of market‑leading products.
- Support other operational teams to ensure parts needed for production meet customer standards.
- Liaise with suppliers and the supplier quality team to resolve quality or delivery issues, and support supplier validation and reallocation processes.
- Own and develop cell and line layout and workstation design to make processes best and easiest.
- Support M&A activity through process transfer.
- Resource management and budgeting.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing (2:1 or above preferred) with 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and enthusiasm for manufacturing processes.
- Hands‑on approach to solving complex engineering and manufacturing problems.
- Ability to balance immediate production support with long‑term process improvements.
- Proven experience as a LEAN practitioner with a full Six Sigma toolset.
- Ability to gather, interpret, and present data from multiple sources to drive continuous improvement.
- Effective at managing your own workload and supporting others.
- Comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in high‑tech manufacturing or assembly, MES systems, SAP/ERP, PLM/ECN, and CAD/PCB design.
- Knowledge of manufacturing transfer, modern manufacturing vision, and holding a UK driving licence are advantageous.
