This role plays a key part in supporting the Finance Department by leading Revenue, Fixed Asset, IFRS16 Lease Accounting, and Reporting activities for Malvern Panalytical. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely financial information, maintaining robust financial controls, and acting as the technical expert for all IFRS16 lease accounting matters. The position is central to upholding financial integrity across the organisation and enabling high-quality decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Lead revenue accounting activities, including margin analysis, error resolution, credit memo approval, bad debt provisioning, and sales commission calculations.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting by reviewing capex requests, managing AUC, maintaining the asset register, and delivering accurate depreciation and reporting.
- Act as the global technical owner for IFRS16, ensuring correct lease recognition, monthly accounting, reconciliations and compliance with group policy.
- Prepare and maintain IFRS16 lease contracts, valuations, remeasurements and modifications while supporting internal and external audit.
- Deliver accurate month-end close activities, reconciliations and financial reporting across revenue, fixed assets and lease accounting.
- Perform global warranty provision calculations and produce due-billing reports to support operational and order-to-cash processes.
- Maintain strong financial controls, drive continuous process improvements and ensure high-quality analysis and insight for stakeholders.
- Build effective relationships across Finance, Operations and Audit teams, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of queries.
Qualifications:
- Relevant accounting experience with a strong technical grounding in IFRS reporting.
- Proven expertise in fixed asset accounting and IFRS16 lease accounting.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with integrated ERP systems, including SAP.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders.
- Strong organisational capability, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience supporting internal and external audits with high standards of accuracy.
- Demonstrated competencies in communication, collaboration, adaptability, professionalism and analytical thinking.
