This role is for a new home on the Wirral, CH44. The home will be registered for 2 children. There will be a staff team of 6 - deputy manager, 2 senior support workers and 3 support workers. This is a great opportunity to open a new home and recruit a staff team.

Must have 2 years experience in the last 5 years, one year in a supervisory role. Must have L3 and be working towards L5.

Salary: £51,872.13 - £53,942.13 dependant on qualifications.

Accountable to: Responsible Individual and Directors of the Company.

Purpose of Job: To guide and direct a team offering residential care and support to children and young people aged 7 to 17 years of age.

Key Personal Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that the provision of care to Young People is in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards and other regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • To participate in personal development activities which ensure currency of knowledge and skills in the management of care of Young People and any specialties offered by the Home.
  • To conduct oneself at all times in a manner which is complimentary to the ideals, goals and expectations of a caring establishment.

Rate of Pay: As per agreement and in line with Omega Care pay scales and dependent upon qualifications/experience.

ANNUAL LEAVE: 28 days holiday plus bank holidays.

HOURS OF WORK: The Registered Homes Manager will work Monday to Friday as standard but will also be required to be flexible in response to the needs of the service. Some weekends or sleep in duties may be required.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD: All appointments are subject to a 6 months probationary period, at this time progress will be reviewed.

PETROL ALLOWANCE: Paid at 0.25p per mile when using own car - must have business insurance cover.

PENSION: In accordance with legislation, the company will provide access to a pension scheme which all staff can be enrolled on from successful completion of induction/probationary period.

PERSON SPECIFICATION FOR THE POST OF: Registered Homes Manager

Criteria for selection:

  • Minimum of 2 years residential experience within the last 5 years.
  • NVQ Level 3/4 in health and social care or equivalent.
  • Sound knowledge of governing legislation, procedures and best practice in caring for looked after children.
  • Willingness to increase knowledge through on-going training.
  • Ability to lead Ofsted inspections to receive GOOD gradings.
